Everyone must have a beginning and yet no man is an island.  It takes a collaboration effort to raise a child.  Through the facilities of Christ Temple Church, the educational arm of the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC) and other foundations and corporations, Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy became one of nine UMKC sponsored charter schools.  We are a premier charter school of Kansas City and expect to expand to a charter high school in 2007.
